We make it simple to delete your data from Aliat. Whether you’re a business that uses Aliat or someone who has messaged a business that uses Aliat, you have the right to request deletion of your personal data, free of charge. 

Section 1 — If you are an Aliat customer 

If you operate a business account on Aliat, you can delete your account and all associated data at any time: 

Option A — From within Aliat (recommended) 

1. Sign in to your Aliat account at https://app.aliat.io. 
2. Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. 
3. Confirm the deletion when prompted. 

Option B — By email 

Send a request to privacy@aliat.io from the email address registered to your Aliat account. Include: 

• Your business name as it appears on the account. 

• A brief statement that you wish to delete your account. 

We will confirm receipt within 2 business days and complete deletion within 30 days. We will email you a confirmation when deletion is complete. 

What gets deleted 

• Your account profile and login credentials. 

• All Knowledge Base content you uploaded. 

• All conversation history and contact records. 

• All bot configuration and channel connections. 

• Billing data (except as required by Romanian law to retain — typically tax records for 10 years; these are anonymised where possible). 

What we keep (and why) 

• Tax and accounting records, as required by Romanian fiscal law (typically 10 years). 

• Records necessary to defend ourselves against legal claims, until the relevant limitation period expires. 
• Anonymised usage statistics that no longer identify you personally. 

Section 2 — If you are an end-user 

If you have sent a message to a business that uses Aliat (for example, on Instagram, Facebook Messenger), your message data may be processed through Aliat on behalf of that business. 

You have two paths to request deletion: 

Path A — Contact the business directly (fastest) 

The business you messaged is the data controller of your conversation data. You can: 

• Send a follow-up message asking the business to delete your data. 

• Email the business at the address shown on their public profile or website. 

The business is required by law to honour your request and can ask us to remove the data on their behalf, typically within 30 days. 

Path B — Contact us directly 

Send an email to privacy@aliat.io with: 

• The platform you used (Instagram, Facebook). 

• The username, page name, or phone number of the business you messaged. 

• Your username or display name on that platform. 

• A brief description of the data you want deleted (e.g. “all my conversation history with this business”). 

We will identify your records, notify the business if appropriate, and complete deletion within 30 days. We will email you a confirmation. 

Section 3 — Deletion via Meta (Facebook, Instagram) 

If you have used Facebook or Instagram to interact with an Aliat-powered business and want to revoke our access to your data: 

1. Open Settings & privacy on Facebook or Instagram. 
2. Go to Apps and Websites (or Apps Connected to Your Account). 
3. Find any business pages or apps using Aliat in the list. 
4. Remove the app’s access. 

When you do this, Meta sends us a signed deletion request through their Data Deletion Callback. Upon receipt, we automatically delete the corresponding records within 30 days. 

You can verify the status of an automated deletion request by emailing privacy@aliat.io with the confirmation code provided by Meta. 

Section 4 — Our commitment 

When you ask us to delete your data, we follow these principles: 

• No fees. We never charge for deletion requests. 

• No carve-outs. We don’t refuse deletion based on the type of data, your country, or any other discretionary factor — except where law requires us to retain specific records (e.g. tax records). 

• Clear timelines. We respond within 2 business days and complete deletion within 30 days. 

• Confirmation. We email you when deletion is complete. 

• Backups. Live data is deleted within 30 days. Encrypted backups may retain residual copies for up to 90 days before being overwritten in normal rotation. After this period, no copies remain. 

Section 5 — Other privacy rights
